Spring Cleaning
After months of complete disorganization I finally decided to start the spring cleaning. I decided to listen to the experts and take one room at a time. This weekend I chose to start with the pantry.
I took everything out and did a quick inventory on what supplies I would need. I then went to the local dollar store and spent less than 10 bucks on a basket, bag clips, and a few containers. After emptying the entire pantry I categorized the food into, snacks, canned foods/pastas, and breakfast stuff. I lined the cans up in rows to make it easier to see what we were running low on. I cleaned the shelves and then began to organize them one by one.
Make sure to prioritize by placing items used more frequently in an easy to reach spot close to eye level. Items rarely used place up high. We choose to keep cereal in reach of the kids on the bottom shelf, and snacks higher up to ensure they are out of reach and sight.
It sounds exhausting, but really it was quick, easy, and affordable. Not to mention our pantry looks better than ever. One room down, five more to go.
