My Hair Is Falling Out

After getting handful after handful of hair while showering, I started to panic. I did some research and was very relieved to find it’s a completely normal condition called postpartum hair loss. Once again I’m reminded how completely different each pregnancy is, because I don’t remember experiencing this with my first.

My son is almost 6 months old and from what I’ve read it can last 6 to 12 months after you give birth. It’s caused from a drop in estrogen levels so your head is really just shedding all the extra hair that it held onto while you were pregnant when estrogen levels were much higher. What a relief, I was sure I would soon be bald. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have the same problem and my son is 4 months old. It’s always shocking to see all that hair in the shower. Other lovely symptoms I have encountered since giving birth have been acne, yellowish teeth and little to no weight loss. I swear, I think it’s God’s way of making sure my son is an only child.

Yes! I have experienced the Howie Mandel hair loss. It lasted for about 3 months for me. Now I am back to regular amount of hair loss. One of the many perks of haviong children.
